Lethal here folks~
First I’d like to echo Impish’s sentiments of gratitude for the words of support that are finding their way still into the comments section on a daily basis. Though we may not be commenting rest assured we see and read every one of them, in fact if we do not for the most part they do not get approved and appear. Your kind words and outpouring of support is much appreciated by both of us.
Appreciated so much so in fact that Impish and I have begun to second guess our decision (well primarily his decision) to shut things down totally. Several of you have made comments and suggestions ranging from re~posting issues from the past to holiday and special event posts, only to once a week posts. In each case the underlying point was that something, anything was better than nothing at all and that while you all understood where we were coming from and the pressures upon us you wished there was another way besides shutting down totally.
While I cannot say what exact steps Impish and I are going to take at this exact moment as our plan is a best very rough, I can say we have found a renewed sense of commitment to not letting this thing die off entirely, at least not quite yet and not without one final attempt at preserving the 10 years of hard work and laughs that have gone into this.
This may again mean changes to the way we do things. the URL (http://Dagonlaffs.com) is something that we have to buy annually and pay for. Impish has received notice that the renewal is about 90 days out and that it has to be paid for 30 days prior to the current one expiring. At $50/ year it’s sort of hard to justify the expense for anything less than a full time blog and given the economy, even harder to pry out of already bare bones budgets. Things are in fact so tight here at Firebase Leprechaun that I’ve instituted voluntary coffee rationing and cut my coffee consumption by 75% and they are likely to get tighter still before things get better.
The point is hang in there and believe you have not heard the fat lady sing quite yet or as Yogi Berra said, “It ain’t over until it’s over” and (at least as it applies to this blog) “The future ain’t what it used to be.”
I strongly suspect that you will see more about this subject and exactly what shape things might resume under posted by Saturday or Sunday at the latest so keep watching and keep your comments coming.
